Read and interpret landscape plans, blueprints, and specifications to direct work accurately.
Operate a variety of landscape machinery and equipment (e.g., skid-steers, excavators, sod cutters, saws) and train crew members on their safe operation.
Perform and oversee all aspects of hardscape and softscape installation, including but not limited to: patios, walkways, retaining walls, drainage systems, planting, sodding, and irrigation.
Manage daily crew assignments, productivity, and timekeeping.
Conduct morning safety meetings (tailgate talks) and ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Perform routine maintenance and inspection on trucks, trailers, and equipment.
Manage on-site materials, ensuring they are used efficiently and stored properly.
Serve as the primary on-site liaison with the Project Manager/Supervisor, providing daily updates on progress, challenges, and material needs.
Interact professionally with clients and property managers when necessary.
Conduct on-the-spot quality checks to ensure work meets company standards and client expectations.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in construction
Proven expertise in hardscape installation (pavers, natural stone, walls) and softscape practices.
Proficiency in operating heavy machinery common in landscape contracting.
Strong ability to read and execute landscape design plans.
