About the Role



We are seeking an experienced and highly driven

Construction Director

to lead, plan, organize, and direct all works across our construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all project elements are executed efficiently, within the programmed timeframe, and in alignment with budgeted cost levels, design specifications, QA/QC standards, and safety and environmental requirements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Project & Construction Management



Manage and supervise all construction activities in alignment with the approved baseline program and project milestones. Lead and direct Roads & Utility Works to achieve planned output while resolving issues affecting progress, safety, or quality. Monitor site activities and guide Construction Managers on areas for improvement. Execute all works to ensure timely completion, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. Plan and implement the construction of all works in DS184B with required quality and safety measures. Arrange adequate machinery, equipment, labor, and material resources to meet scheduled deadlines. Provide essential input to Planning for the development of the Construction Program. Direct daily operations for Construction Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Surveyors, Superintendents, Supervisors, and Subcontractors.

Coordination & Communication



Liaise with Engineers, Employer representatives, consultants, service authorities, and clients to resolve project-related issues. Coordinate closely with Technical, Procurement, Laboratory, Stores, Workshop, Plant, Labor, Safety, and Quality departments to avoid work disruptions. Coordinate with Operations sections to optimize resource utilization. Conduct regular coordination meetings with team members and subcontractors. Attend meetings with Client/Consultant as required.

Technical & Documentation Responsibilities



Approve all technical documents, including shop drawings and method statements, prior to submission to the Engineer. Ensure all construction is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and Method Statements. Ensure all project records and documentation are accurately and professionally maintained. Provide progress information for updating progress charts, construction programs, and monthly payment applications. Assist in preparing Monthly Progress Reports and work instructions.

Subcontractor & Supplier Management



Monitor and ensure subcontractor and supplier performance in line with schedule, quality, and safety requirements. Manage subcontractor deliverables and ensure compliance with work programs. Evaluate and certify subcontractor claims. Initiate NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) through QA/QC for any non-conforming work.

Cost Control & Productivity



Monitor construction costs and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity. Minimize waste, rework, double-handling, and other unproductive activities without compromising quality or safety. Provide resource utilization data to the Contracts Section for productivity analysis.

Health, Safety & Environment



Ensure site logistics management meets project and company requirements. Request safety induction training for new employees before work commencement. Communicate risk assessments to teams with support from the EHS team. Implement and oversee the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for high-risk activities. Ensure site personnel adhere to safety regulations and approved procedures. Ensure immediate reporting of accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions in accordance with company and client procedures. Liaise with Corporate QHSE for internal and external audits. Take a leading role in enforcing company Quality and Safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. Minimum 10 plus years of experience in major infrastructure projects, including Roads & Utilities. Strong leadership, planning, and team coordination skills. In-depth knowledge of construction processes, drawings, QA/QC standards, and HSE regulations. Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Pay: AED15,000.00 - AED25,000.00 per month
