. This role will ensure that our properties, operations, and services comply with all applicable local, regional, and international regulations, including licensing, safety, taxation, zoning, and hospitality standards. The ideal candidate will help mitigate risks, develop internal policies, and stay ahead of regulatory changes impacting short-term rental operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations affecting short-term rentals.
Monitor and implement licensing, registration, and tax requirements for holiday homes in multiple jurisdictions.
Stay updated on zoning laws, hospitality regulations, safety codes, and insurance obligations.
Develop, maintain, and enforce internal compliance policies and procedures.
Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments of properties and operational processes.
Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities, legal counsel, and property owners.
Train internal teams on compliance best practices and policy updates.
Investigate and respond to compliance breaches, guest complaints, and legal issues.
Maintain records of compliance documentation, incident reports, and regulatory filings.
Provide strategic advice to leadership on regulatory risks and opportunities.
Qualifications:
Proven experience (2+ years) in a compliance role, preferably within the holiday homes, short-term rentals, or hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of local and international regulations related to property rentals, tourism, zoning, and taxation.
Familiarity with platforms like Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, or property management systems is a plus.
Experience working across multiple markets or jurisdictions is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and lead projects to completion.
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field (compliance certification a plus).

Background in legal or regulatory affairs.
