The Commis - Production supports the kitchen team in daily food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality, and hygiene standards in line with 3Fils' culinary philosophy. This role focuses on efficient mise en place, ingredient preparation, and assisting senior chefs to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in daily
food preparation and production
as per recipes and chef instructions
Prepare ingredients (washing, cutting, marinating, portioning) with accuracy and consistency
Ensure
mise en place
is completed on time for service
Follow
food safety, hygiene (HACCP), and sanitation standards
at all times
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, storage areas, and equipment
Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing deliveries properly
Minimize waste by proper portioning and storage
Support senior chefs during service when required
Comply with kitchen policies, grooming standards, and safety procedures
Requirements & Qualifications
Previous experience as a
Commis or Kitchen Assistant
preferred (Japanese/Asian cuisine is an advantage)
Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques
Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Ability to work in a
fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
