Assist in the preparation and cooking of healthy menu items (grilled, steamed, low-oil, gluten-free, vegan, etc.).
Wash, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients according to recipes.
Maintain portion control and consistency in food presentation.
Support senior chefs in daily kitchen tasks.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Properly store and label all ingredients to maintain freshness.
Help with stock rotation and report shortages to the Head Chef.
Keep workstations, utensils, and equipment clean and organized.
Learn and apply new cooking techniques focused on healthy cuisine.
Assist in minimizing food waste and promoting sustainable cooking practices.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Kitchen Assistant preferred (experience in healthy/organic restaurants is an advantage).
Basic knowledge of cooking methods, nutrition, and food preparation.
Passion for healthy eating and innovative cuisine.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork, time management, and attention to detail.
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
