We are seeking a talented and dedicated Commis I - Cold Kitchen to join our culinary team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist in the preparation of cold dishes, salads, and appetizers, contributing to our commitment to culinary excellence and customer satisfaction.
Assist in preparing mise-en-place for salads, appetizers, dressings, and cold platters
Support the creation of buffet presentations and a la carte cold items
Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, and adherence to recipes and plating guidelines for cold dishes
Maintain proper storage and freshness of ingredients
Keep workstations clean and organized in compliance with HACCP and local regulations
Assist senior chefs in daily operations and contribute to a smooth workflow
Monitor and record temperatures of refrigerators and cold rooms
Manage stock levels and report shortages to senior chefs
Uphold safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
Collaborate with other kitchen sections during service
Contribute to menu development and seasonal dish creation
Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant setting
Solid understanding of culinary techniques, particularly in cold kitchen preparations
Proficiency in food safety practices and HACCP principles
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and follow instructions accurately
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Excellent time-management and organizational abilities
Passion for culinary excellence and continuous learning
Knowledge of international cuisine and current culinary trends
Ability to read and follow recipes accurately
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
