The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and baking of bread, pastries, and other baked goods, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to established recipes and standards. This position requires attention to detail, creativity, and a passion for baking.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist senior bakers in preparing a wide range of bakery items including breads, rolls, croissants, cakes, muffins, and desserts.
Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
Operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and dough sheeters safely and efficiently.
Maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all ingredients and baked items.
Ensure that baking ingredients and supplies are available and report shortages promptly.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the bakery section.
Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines at all times.
Support the Chef de Partie and other team members during busy production periods.
Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal product innovation when required.
Uphold company standards of professionalism, teamwork, and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or Certificate in
Bakery, Pastry Arts, or Culinary Arts
.
Minimum
2-3 years of experience
in a similar bakery role, preferably in a 4-star/5-star hotel or professional bakery.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough fermentation, and ingredient handling.
Good understanding of pastry production is an advantage.
Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
