Role Summary
IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a skilled Commis Chef - Butchery to join the culinary team at voco Dubai. In this role, you will support food preparation, meat handling, and butchery tasks while ensuring high-quality standards, hygiene, and efficiency in the kitchen. What You'll Do

• Prepare ingredients, mise en place, and cook dishes in line with established recipes and standards
• Assist with butchery tasks including deboning, trimming, and portioning meat with precision
• Inspect meat deliveries to ensure freshness and quality
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned kitchen stations and butchery areas
• Support service by plating, garnishing, and ensuring timely delivery of dishes
• Follow all hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with HACCP standards
• Monitor portion control and minimize food waste to control costs
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
• Assist in training and guiding junior staff to maintain culinary standards
• Suggest improvements and contribute ideas for seasonal menu updates

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field preferred
• 2-4 years of experience in butchery or kitchen operations within hospitality, with strong knowledge of meat preparation
• Certification in food safety or culinary training is an advantage
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
• Presentable personality with a strong commitment to quality and guest satisfaction
