What you will be doing: Food Preparation: Commis 1 Pastry is responsible for preparing and cooking food items as per the menu and recipes provided by the executive chef or sous chef. This may involve various culinary techniques and styles, depending on the hotel\'s cuisine. Quality and Presentation: Ensuring that all dishes are prepared to high standards in terms of taste, quality, and presentation. Maintaining consistency in the taste and appearance of dishes is crucial. Kitchen Hygiene: Maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace, following food safety and hygiene protocols, and adhering to health and safety regulations in the kitchen. Assisting Senior Chefs: Collaborating with senior chefs in preparing ingredients, executing complex dishes, and learning from their expertise. Inventory Management: Keeping track of ingredient inventory, reporting shortages, and assisting with the ordering of supplies to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly. Learning and Development: Commis 1 Pastry often serves as an entry-level position where individuals can learn and develop their culinary skills. They may receive training and guidance to advance their career in the culinary field. Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with other members of the kitchen team to ensure efficient and timely food service. Menu Innovation: Commis 1- Pastry may be encouraged to contribute ideas or suggestions for menu enhancements or new dishes. Customer Satisfaction: Striving to meet or exceed guest expectations by consistently delivering high-quality dishes that align with the hotel\'s reputation.
Qualifications
  • Creative and passionate about food and customer service
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
  • Bachelors or diplomas/certifications in Culinary required.
  • Work in 4* to 5* Hotel or relevant experience is a must with in the industry
