Commi Waiter / Waiter/Waitress
Reports To: Head Waiter
Supervises: N/A
Overview: The Commi Waiter provides direct, attentive, and knowledgeable service to a specific section of tables. They are the main liaison between the guest and the kitchen, ensuring each guest's needs are met throughout their dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide warm, professional, and unobtrusive service to guests.
- Have thorough menu knowledge to explain ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, entering them into the POS system promptly.
- Serve food and beverages correctly, following restaurant protocol (e.g., "service from the right, clearance from the left").
- Maintain table maintenance: crumbing, refilling water/wine, clearing finished plates.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and proactively address any concerns, escalating if necessary.
- Work in tandem with Runners to ensure timely delivery of food.
- Prepare and present checks, process payments accurately.
- Reset tables efficiently and assist with opening/closing duties.
- Previous waiting experience, preferably in a high-volume or fine-dining setting.
- Strong menu and basic wine knowledge.
- Excellent customer service skills and a polished appearance.
- Ability to multitask and work cohesively in a team.
- Physical stamina to be on feet for extended periods.
