Commi Chef
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Reporting To: Sous Chef / Head Chef
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Commi Chef to join our kitchen brigade. You will be responsible for supporting the senior chefs in food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring the consistent quality of our dishes. This is a foundational role for a culinary professional looking to build a career in a professional kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation:
• Perform basic food preparation tasks as assigned by the Demi Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning.
• Assist in the preparation of mise en place for various kitchen sections.
• Learn and follow standard recipes and plating guidelines.
• Cooking & Station Support:
• Assist in cooking and plating dishes under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Support specific sections (e.g., cold kitchen, grill, sauces) as required.
• Ensure food is prepared and stored in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Kitchen Maintenance:
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all work areas.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and utensils.
• Properly store food items and manage stock rotation (FIFO).

Qualifications & Requirements:

• A culinary school diploma or certificate is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety standards (HACCP).
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and work in a hot environment.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
