Job Description

The Commis 1 is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items in accordance with established standards and recipes. This role ensures quality, hygiene, and safety while supporting senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes under the guidance of senior chefs. Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards. Assist in the setup and breakdown of the workstation before and after service. Ensure proper storage and labeling of all food items. Comply with food safety, health, and sanitation guidelines at all times. Report any spoilage or shortages to the Chef de Partie. Work in various kitchen sections as needed (hot, cold, pastry, etc.). Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow. Adhere to kitchen safety protocols and handle kitchen equipment responsibly.

Requirements:



Basic culinary education or relevant experience. 1-2 years of kitchen experience preferred, but not always required. Knowledge of basic kitchen techniques and ingredients. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
