Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Commercial Development Associate Director to join our global team of experienced sales & market development professionals, who are actively driving growth and awareness of Oxford Nanopore Technologies' products across the research, clinical and applied markets. Through deep customer relationships and sound technical capabilities, they will be responsible for driving revenue in new markets and areas of interest within clinical genomics. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for driving forward the development of new commercial interests by identifying customer-led opportunities and working to develop new clinical applications. As result, they will establish Oxford Nanopore Technologies as a technology of choice and drive new revenue streams. A key focus will be work strategically to establish executive customer relationships and build an ecosystem for ONT technology by engaging across broad range of clinical, public health and governmental communities. They will support the development of the commercial strategy and be the point of contact internally to accelerate opportunities which align to ONT's growth strategy. The Clinical Commercial Development Associate Director will work alongside commercial leadership, marketing, operations and business development to ensure all opportunities are identified and deliver to agreed commercial targets. This position will be supported by the broader Sales and Market Development teams, Customer Service, Technical Support and Applications teams.
Duties Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and execute commercial development strategy in conjunction with executive leadership to demonstrate ONT capabilities in translational and clinical markets, delivering 1-3 year revenue outlook
  • Build local commercialization plans with executive leadership to support test development and partnership opportunities
  • Manage entire regional approach & execution; defining market access plans, alliances and channels to support
  • Accountable for revenue goals, based on strategic plan and timelines
  • Work to develop biopharma strategy for the region, aligned to global initiative
  • Develop sales funnel by supporting the clinical development team, fostering short-term wins to meet revenue targets and building long-term growth,
  • Collaborate with field sales team to identify and develop sales opportunities & programs linked to commercial development strategy,
  • Identify and nurture a subset of customers who will develop new clinical applications or evaluate existing ones to generate evidence of effectiveness, driving pilot & proof of concept studies to solidify ONT as a partner,
  • Coordinate between account management, technical support, and marketing to ensure successful customer-led development projects are aligned to strategic commercial development objectives,
  • Identify potential partnership opportunities to deliver solutions and adoption of ONT technology; working closely with business development to establish partnership relationships & contracts; develop 3rd party relationships as needed
  • Build relationships with the KOLs who will become future advocates of our technology, including through site visits and giving presentations to key research and clinical groups,
  • Attend academic, clinical and commercial meetings to gather market intelligence and represent the company as a stakeholder in discussions,
  • Deliver internal updates to stakeholders and executives; presenting market analysis, forecast expectations & key moderators,
  • Work collaboratively across matrix organization
  • Participate in strategic marketing activities to drive demand, including development of market positioning, test specific pricing, customer stories, contributing to marcomms materials/events and identifying marketing opportunities in segment,
  • Train local sales teams on commercial strategy, positioning and key projects
  • Advocate for customer requirements, giving input into product development and segment marketing to address solution gaps,
  • Develop rich competitive intelligence across the market and territory, identifying new growth areas, trends and impact on ONT
  • Any other duties as might be required within the remit and responsibilities of the post.
We'll expect you to have.... A Bsc degree in a biomedical or life sciences discipline. A PhD or MBA qualification would be advantageous but is not essential. You should have several years experience in life sciences or a related field and have existing relationships with KOLs in human clinical and/or pathogen genomics within the region. We are seeking a candidate who has knowledge of the clinical market and experience of at least one of either oncology, inherited disorders, rare disease and complex disease.
