Job Purpose: A CNC Milling Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce parts according to blueprints, drawings, and other specifications. Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job. Monitor machine performance during operation, adjusting feed and speed settings as necessary to ensure high-quality results. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and make adjustments to the machine as needed to correct any issues. Maintain machines by cleaning and lubricating them, changing worn or broken tools, and performing routine maintenance tasks. Troubleshoot machine issues and make necessary repairs. Collaborate with other team members, such as programmers and quality control inspectors, to ensure efficient production and high-quality results. Keep accurate records of machine settings, production output, and any issues encountered during the manufacturing process. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience operating CNC milling machines, including knowledge of programming and tooling. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, and materials used in CNC milling. Understanding of machine maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong attention to detail and quality control. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy materials. Preferred qualifications: Vocational or technical training in CNC machining or related field. Experience with CAM software. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
