CNC Machine Operator (AutoCAD?Skilled)

Job Purpose

To operate, program, and maintain CNC machines to produce high?quality lighting components, interpret technical drawings (AutoCAD), and ensure efficient, safe production in line with factory standards and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and AutoCAD files to understand component dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements. Prepare CAD design / part files (e.g. converting AutoCAD .DWG/.DXF to CNC?ready files) and collaborate with engineers/designers for changes or optimizations. Set up, Program and Operate CNC machines (3?axis, possibly 4? or 5?axis depending on factory capacity) to produce parts/components, including housings, fittings, etc. Monitor machines during operation, detect anomalies, ensure precision, adjust settings to maintain quality. Perform routine preventive maintenance, clean machinery, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical or software issues. Conduct quality control inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc., ensure parts meet tolerance, surface finish, and other specs. Maintain production logs, machine usage records, material usage, scrap rate, and issues. Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines. Ensure safe handling of materials, proper use of PPE. Work in coordination with the design, engineering, and production planning teams to meet deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical diploma or certificate (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or equivalent).

Proven experience

of ideally

3+ years

operating CNC machines in Qatar. Good working knowledge of

AutoCAD

(reading, modifying, exporting CAD files) is essential. Knowledge of CNC programming is a plus. Experience with multi?axis CNC machines (3?axis, 5?axis, etc.) is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and precision. Ability to use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers etc.). Good communication skills in English (reading and instructions), and ability to work in a team. Awareness of safety standards in a factory / machining workshop environment.
