The CNC & CAD/CAM Field Application/Support Engineer is a critical client-facing technical expert responsible for ensuring customer success across the UAE. This role requires a strong practical background in both Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and Conventional (Manual) machining, combined with proficiency in CAD/CAM software. The Engineer will be responsible for the full lifecycle of customer engagement: machine installation, comprehensive operator training, application support, and technical troubleshooting for clients spanning Educational Institutions (Schools, Colleges, Universities) and Industrial Manufacturing firms.
Execute the complete installation, setup, and commissioning of new CNC machines (Milling, Turning, etc.) and associated CAD/CAM software at client sites.
Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair of machine mechanical, electrical, and control (CNC Controller) issues.
Manage scheduled preventive maintenance visits and respond promptly to client breakdown requests.
2. Expert Training & Application Support (Customer Success):
Develop and deliver practical, hands-on training sessions for diverse audiences, including students, instructors, machine operators, and industrial engineers.
The training scope must cover: Manual Machine Operation, CNC setup, G-code/M-code programming, safe machine operation, and the full CAD/CAM workflow.
Provide advanced application support, guiding clients on complex part programming, fixturing, cutting tool selection, and optimizing machining parameters for various materials.
3. Technical Troubleshooting & Communication:
Serve as the primary technical contact, resolving software (CAD/CAM) and hardware (CNC machine/controller) issues efficiently via remote and on-site support.
Utilize excellent communication skills to clearly convey technical solutions and complex instructions to non-technical users.
Document all service reports, repair actions, and training outcomes accurately in the company's technical database.
4. Product Knowledge & Demonstration:
Stay updated on the latest trends in CNC technology, CAD/CAM software, and educational curriculum requirements.
Assist the sales team by conducting technical demonstrations of machinery and software capabilities to prospective clients.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
MANDATORY: Engineering Qualification
Diploma or B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or Production Engineering.
Experience
Relevant Industry Experience
3 - 6 years in CNC Machining, Service, Technical Support, or Application Engineering.
Hands-on experience is essential.
Technical Core
CNC & Manual Machining
Proven hands-on experience in operating, setting up, and troubleshooting both CNC Machines (Milling/Turning) AND Conventional/Manual Lathes and Mills.
Software
CAD/CAM Proficiency
Expertise in generating toolpaths, post-processing, and utilizing major CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks/Solid CAM, Fusion 360).
Location & Driving
Requirements
Must possess a valid UAE Driving License. Having a personal car (good) is highly advantageous due to frequent site visits across the Emirates.
Soft Skills
Communication & Training
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. Strong presentation and instructional skills are required for conducting training.

Machine Control Knowledge
Familiarity with standard CNC controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenheimer).
