We are seeking a qualified and motivated General Practitioner (GP) to join our Medical Education Department as a Clinical Skills Instructor. The successful candidate will play a key role in teaching and supporting undergraduate medical students in the development of clinical and communication skills. This includes active involvement in practical skills training, simulation-based education, and other teaching activities, as well as supporting the day-to-day operations of the Simulation Center. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the training of future healthcare professionals within a dynamic academic environment. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: o Teach and facilitate clinical and communication skills sessions for medical students. o Guide students through communication scenarios and fostering professionalism throughout clinical training. o Deliver clinical skills education across all levels of undergraduate training, from basic foundational skills to complex clinical reasoning and procedural skills. o Teach clinical reasoning, differential diagnosis, and patient-centered care approaches o Assist in the development and delivery of simulation-based training, including procedural skills, OSCEs, and scenario-based learning. o Support curriculum development in collaboration with the medical education team. o Supervise and assess students in practical skills laboratories and during formative and summative assessments. o Assist with scheduling, preparation, setup, and maintenance of simulation equipment and teaching materials. o Collaborate with faculty, clinical departments, and administrative teams to ensure quality teaching delivery. o Participate in faculty development and training programs to stay current with educational best practices. o Provide mentorship and academic support to students where appropriate.
Minimum Qualification
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent). o Licensed General Practitioner (GP). o A minimum of 5 years clinical experience (less may be considered for UAE Nationals). o Demonstrated interest or experience in teaching or medical education. o Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualification
Masters' Degree in health-related subject or medical education
Expected Skills
Previous teaching experience in an academic or clinical setting. o Experience with simulation-based education and/or OSCEs. o Certificate or diploma in medical education or health professions education is highly desirable. o Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. o Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic team. o Familiarity with curriculum development and student assessment processes. o Basic technical knowledge related to simulation equipment setup and troubleshooting. o Skilled in providing developmental feedback appropriate to the learner's stage, fostering continuous improvement in both technical and non-technical skills.
