At the forefront in the battle against the pandemic, G42 Healthcare partnered with Abu Dhabi authorities to develop a massive throughput laboratory in 14 days and spearheaded the worlds first Phase 3 clinical trial of COVID-19 inactivated vaccine. Beyond Covid-19, G42 Healthcare is also developing a program of activities to support the health of future generations ranging from genomics, imaging and diagnostics to digitization programs, manufacturing and cutting-edge research. Responsibilities:

• Clinical geneticist is a physician who is allowed to examine and manage patients with genetic diseases and evaluate genetic tests results
• Gather data and evaluates the medical histories of patients and their families.
• Able to diagnose genetic diseases or to prescribe treatment if available.
• Screen patients for inherited conditions that can result from alterations in genetic material (chromosomes or DNA).
• Choose the type of sample to be collected from patients and family members.
• Choose the best technique to be used to diagnose the genetic disease.
• Supervise lab technicians who perform the DNA or chromodomal tests.
• Review laboratory results of diagnostic genetic tests and validates them.
• Collaborate with other physicians, biologists and genetic counsellors to determine the specific genetic tests that need to be performed on a patient.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of genetic tests methodology, processes, procedures and test results. Document results of diagnostic or experimental genetics in scientific journals and presents findings at medical conferences. Develop and setups new genetic tests and panels.
• Maintain computer databases of genetic information.
• Attend educational conferences.
• Read scientific literature relating to genetics to stay up to date on discoveries and developments of new techniques or treatments. Must be highly observant and detail oriented.
• Must have good computer and technology skills.
• Must have superior problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent critical thinking skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in medicine.
• Postgraduate studies in medical genetics including training in laboratory and clinical genetics.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience in clinical genetics.
