Civil Technician
Job Summary:
The Civil Technician provides technical support to civil engineers on construction projects. They are involved in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of structures and infrastructure like roads, bridges, and buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting site surveys and investigations.
- Measure materials and check for quality and compliance with specifications.
- Help prepare sketches, drawings, and cost estimates.
- Monitor construction sites to ensure compliance with design drawings and safety standards.
- Perform tests on construction materials (e.g., concrete, soil, asphalt).
- Record data and maintain detailed logs of project activities.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficiency with surveying equipment and software (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Strong mathematical skills for calculating areas, volumes, and stresses.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
