Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in sourcing and managing suppliers, ensuring quality assurance, and optimizing our procurement processes. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge and expertise in various quality management systems to support our manufacturing operations.

Duties

Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals. Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service. Conduct root cause analysis to address supplier-related issues and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality control, and engineering to ensure product specifications are met.

Utilize tools such as Minitab for data analysis and process improvement initiatives. Manage supplier relationships to foster collaboration and continuous improvement. Oversee the application of lean manufacturing principles within the supply chain. Ensure adherence to CGMP guidelines throughout the procurement process. Participate in APQP activities to facilitate new product introductions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with quality systems including ISO 9001, PPAP, GD&T, and Six Sigma methodologies. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Minitab or similar statistical software. Knowledge of assembly processes and mechanical components is essential. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Experience with AS400 or similar ERP systems is a plus.
