We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and construction, with the ability to work on various projects including residential and commercial buildings. The Mason will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, block, stone, and concrete. A commitment to safety and quality workmanship is essential.
Responsibilities
Construct and repair walls, floors, and other structures using bricks, blocks, stones, and concrete.
Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks to ensure high-quality surfaces.
Install rebar according to project specifications for structural integrity.
Execute hardscape projects including patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project requirements.
Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in all tasks.
Collaborate with other tradespeople on renovation and restoration projects.
Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
Assist in estimating material requirements for construction projects.
Engage in carpentry tasks such as frame carpentry, trim carpentry, and metal stud framing as needed.
Experience
Proven experience in masonry or related construction fields is required.
Familiarity with plastering techniques and stucco application is preferred.
Experience with tile laying is a plus.
Ability to perform welding tasks can enhance project efficiency.
Previous experience on construction sites is essential for understanding job site dynamics.
