Job Description

The Civil Fitout Engineer is responsible for overseeing the civil engineering aspects of building fitout projects, ensuring the integration of infrastructure with architectural designs. This includes coordinating with multiple teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring all work complies with regulations, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Planning:

Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and other engineers to develop civil aspects of fitout designs. Review architectural drawings and technical specifications to ensure feasibility and compliance with building codes. Conduct site assessments and surveys to understand existing conditions and determine structural requirements.

Project Management:

Oversee and manage civil engineering works on fitout projects, including groundwork, utilities, and structural modifications. Develop detailed work schedules and monitor progress against deadlines. Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget. Ensure all civil work aligns with the overall project schedule and quality standards.

Site Supervision:

Manage on-site construction activities and supervise civil engineering works, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety regulations. Ensure quality control throughout the project, conducting inspections and resolving any issues or discrepancies. Oversee the installation of utilities (such as water, gas, and electricity connections) as part of the fitout works.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all civil works are compliant with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations. Conduct regular site safety audits and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Collaboration:

Liaise with the project manager, architect, and other engineers to ensure a seamless integration of civil, structural, and architectural elements. Provide technical support to other departments during the fitout process.

Problem-Solving:

Address any issues or challenges related to civil engineering during the fitout process, proposing practical and cost-effective solutions. Resolve conflicts between different teams or subcontractors that may impact the project timeline or budget.
