Project planning and scheduling
Develop project master schedules, including setting timelines, milestones, and activity sequences.
Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to organize project tasks.
Estimate costs for labor, materials, and other resources.
Use software like Primavera P6 to develop and manage schedules.
Progress and performance monitoring
Track project progress against the schedule to identify potential delays.
Monitor crew performance and site activities to ensure accuracy in reporting.
Prepare regular progress reports for management and stakeholders.
Implement tools like Earned Value Management (EVM) to measure project performance.
Resource and budget management
Estimate and allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials.
Monitor project costs to ensure adherence to the budget.
Develop project budgets and cash flow projections.
Communication and coordination
Act as a liaison between project managers, contractors, designers, and other stakeholders.
Attend meetings to discuss project progress and address issues.
Coordinate work activities between different teams and departments.
Ensure clear and open communication channels are maintained throughout the project.
Risk and change management
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Manage changes to the project scope and track variations.
Develop recovery schedules to get projects back on track if they fall behind.
Handle claims, such as Extension of Time (EOT) requests, when necessary.
