Civil Engineer (Site-Based)
Location: Dubai, UAE
Department: Construction / Engineering
Reports To: Construction Manager / Senior Civil Engineer
Job Purpose:
To provide engineering and supervisory support for specific areas or packages of work on site. The Civil Engineer is responsible for translating design drawings into built work, ensuring technical accuracy, quality, and adherence to the schedule in their assigned zone.
Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct foremen and subcontractors for civil/structural works (concrete, formwork, masonry, finishes, etc.).
• Study drawings, specifications, and schedules to plan work activities.
• Set out the work accurately using surveying instruments (Total Station, Level).
• Monitor work progress, quality of materials, and workmanship against approved samples and standards.
• Prepare daily reports, inspection requests (IRs), and maintain site records.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP, architecture) to avoid clashes and ensure integrated execution.
• Assist the planning engineer in updating short-term look-ahead programs.
• Check quantities of work done for subcontractor payments.
• Ensure all site activities comply with the project's HSE and QA/QC plans.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in site engineering on major construction projects, with proven UAE experience.
• Hands-on experience in reinforced concrete construction, finishing works, and setting out.
• Proficient in surveying techniques and relevant software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to read complex drawings.
• Good communication and team supervision skills.
