Role Scope
Area(s) of Responsibility
Key Activities
Choreographic Design & Development
Develop original choreography for seasonal shows, daily entertainment, character appearances, and marquee events.
Create choreography that reflects brand identity and appeals to a broad demographic including families, tourists, and repeat visitors.
Collaborate with creative leads to interpret scripts and musical scores into movement.
Rehearsal Direction & Performer Coaching
Lead rehearsals and workshops to teach, refine, and clean choreography.
Provide performance notes, individual coaching, and creative feedback to enhance show quality.
Support casting processes and contribute to performer evaluations and selections.
Creative Collaboration & Integration
Work in close coordination with directors, costume designers, lighting, audio, and multimedia teams to ensure choreography is effectively integrated across disciplines.
Contribute to creative treatments and pitch documents for upcoming seasonal shows and activations
Show Execution & Quality Control
Attend technical rehearsals and show previews to ensure choreography is executed as intended.
Maintain choreography documentation and training videos to ensure consistency across seasonal rotations and cast changes, and for archival purposes.
Act as on-site choreographic supervisor during launches, show refreshers, and key event periods.
Innovation & Artistic Development
Stay current on global entertainment and dance trends.
Propose new styles and formats to keep Miral entertainment offerings fresh and competitive.
Mentor junior choreographers, dance captains, and performer leads as part of ongoing development.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Education and Qualifications
Essential:
Degree or diploma in Dance, Choreography, Performing Arts, or related field.
Desirable:
Training in multiple dance disciplines, with specialization in theme park, musical theatre, or commercial dance.
Years of Experience
Essential:
Minimum 6-8 years of professional choreographic experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead choreographer capacity.
Desirable:
Experience working within theme park, cruise ship, touring, or large-scale event environments
Knowledge, Languages and Skills
Essential:
Expertise in multiple dance styles (jazz, contemporary, commercial, hip-hop, etc.).
Strong understanding of stagecraft, blocking, and ensemble movement.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Ability to deliver high-quality choreography under tight timelines.
Experience in choreographing for costume (mascot) characters
Desirable:
Experience working with character-based performance, puppetry, or stunt integration.
Knowledge of show documentation tools and dance notation software.
