The Chiller Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers and associated HVAC systems. The role requires hands-on technical expertise in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues to ensure reliable and energy-efficient operation of cooling systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chiller systems (centrifugal, screw, scroll, or absorption type).
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues in chillers and related equipment.
Inspect, test, and calibrate chiller components to ensure proper operation.
Repair or replace defective parts such as compressors, motors, pumps, valves, and sensors.
Maintain accurate service records, maintenance reports, and inventory of spare parts.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company standards.
Assist in system commissioning and performance testing after installation or repair.
Coordinate with supervisors and other technical staff for efficient workflow and minimal downtime.
Provide technical recommendations for improving system performance and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or ITI Certificate in HVAC / Refrigeration / Mechanical or equivalent.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in chiller maintenance and repair (Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, etc. preferred).
Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressors, and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and service manuals.
Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC control logic.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Physically fit and able to work in outdoor or mechanical plant environments.
Preferred:
Valid UAE Driving License (for field service technicians).
Experience in both water-cooled and air-cooled systems.
Knowledge of energy efficiency best practices in HVAC systems.
