Mark Williams is working with a dynamic new government entity in Abu Dhabi who is currently looking for Head of Technology & Innovation. This person will spearhead the Technology arm and help build the function from the ground-up with Innovation & Security as key factors.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of best in class Digital & Technology strategies that support the organisation in achieving its vision & strategic goals and in embedding the beliefs
- Oversee Digital & IT process design, plan development, and supervise all Digital & IT activities
- Foster innovation and support digital initiatives, empowering the team to present and adopt innovative ideas
- Digital Radar: stay up to date with digital innovations, and establish mechanisms to scan and scout for innovation in tech hubs or other government entities
- Assess requests for new digital products for teams and departments and evaluate their fit and feasibility
- Regularly assess digital maturity of organisation, providing recommendations to address gaps
- Oversee the annual Digital & IT budget and ensure compliance and cost effectiveness
- Supervise and monitor daily IT operations, including servers, hardware, peripherals, software, and operating systems and generate performance reports for operating systems
- Oversee testing, troubleshooting, and modifying IT systems activities to ensure operational efficiency
- Evaluate Digital & IT risks and develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures
- Ensure management is sufficiently and regularly informed of updates, risks and challenges

Requirements:

- This role is exclusive for UAE National Family Book Holders
- Over 4 years experience heading IT/Technology
- A degree in Computer Science, or related/equivalent field, Masters degree is preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in digital and technology management
- Experience setting up Technology function from scratch is a plus
- Extensive exposure to Information Security projects is a plus
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands on experience in software development and web technologies
- Understand core business and support processes & systems as well as associated technical solutions and digital assets
- Proven experience in supervising systems and teams managing front and back end technology and systems covering Cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, Application Development
- Proven experience in designing, owning and delivering digital transformation projects
- Up to date knowledge of the latest digital landscape of organizations
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to collaborate and liaise with various stakeholders and teams
