About the organization:

A leading premier manufacturing company for precast concrete engineering products is looking for a Chief operating Officer to take care of the concrete products business in Muscat, Oman.

The plant has state of the art machinery and infrastructure to manufacture precast concrete engineering products such as Box Culverts, Manholes, Jacking Pipes, Concrete pressure pipes and miscellaneous other concrete precast elements. The products manufactured by the company find wide application in infrastructure projects across the country and the GCC.

The company is owned by three of the largest business conglomerates in the Sultanate of Oman namely the Omzest, Suhail Bahwan and the Saud Bahwan groups.

Roles and responsibilities:

. The candidate is expected to provide leadership to the team with complete responsibility of business P&L,diversification and long-term strategic growth plans. . Should have worked as a business head (with P&L responsibility) ata manufacturing industry catering to the building materials and infrastructure sector(Concrete additives and admixtures, Concrete precast industry, Cement tiles and other cement products, Corrosion coatings for infrastructure industry etc.).Experience in precast concrete products manufacturing industry shall be preferred but is not essential. . It is important for the candidates to have worked hands on in a target driven sales environment at some point of time in his career before graduating to the position of business head with full P&L responsibilities of his division. . Prior experience in plant level manufacturing functions shall be an added advantage. . Working experience in the Gulf markets would be an added advantage but is again not an essential requirement. Proficiency in Arabic communication is however essential. . Our target segment for candidates is more from businesses engaged in sales of factory manufactured items and infrastructure sector. The idea is to have the candidate perform independently in a flat hierarchical structure and having an entrepreneurial mindset. . Right attitude, live wire personality,excellent communication skills are a prerequisite. Needless to mention that as a business head, the candidate needs to independently handle large and varied cross functional teams such as sales, business development, quality control, manufacturing and various other support functions and therefore should have a demonstrated team management ability.

Qualifications:

. Education: Engineering background Civil Engineering from a reputed institute is essential. An MBA qualification will be preferred. . Age: 45- 52 years . Years of experience: 24 years +

Salary and benefits:

. Tax free CTC: Omani Rial OMR 42000 per annum. Additionally, he would be entitled to the performance linked bonuses.

. Basic salary up to Omani Riyal 2500 per month . Housing reimbursement of up to RO 600 per month . Company maintained car would be provided or alternatively allowance reimbursement of up to RO 400 per month. . Fuel / Cooking Gas / Electricity/Telephone expense reimbursement .
