About the organization:

A leading premier manufacturing company for building materials is looking for a Chief operating Officer to take care of the concrete products business in Muscat, Oman.

The plant has state of the art machinery and infrastructure to manufacture precast concrete engineering products such as Box Culverts, Manholes, Jacking Pipes, Concrete pressure pipes and miscellaneous other concrete precast elements. The products manufactured by the company find wide application in infrastructure projects across the country and the GCC.

The company is owned by three of the largest business conglomerates in the Sultanate of Oman namely the Omzest, Suhail Bahwan and the Saud Bahwan groups.

Roles and responsibilities:

 o The candidate is expected to provide leadership to the company catering to the Building materials industry with complete responsibility of divisional P&L/formulation of business and diversification plans. o Education: Engineering background (Preferably Chemical Engr./Mechanical Engr) from a reputed college (top 20) in India. MBA not a prerequisite but preferred. o Age: 45 - 52 o Years of experience: 24+ years. o Knowledge of the Arabic language would be an advantage

Nature of experience/ Candidate profile:

 . Should have worked as a Business head (with P&L responsibility) ata manufacturing/ trading industry catering to the Building materials sector. Experience in plastics building/ infrastructure items manufacturing industry (pipes etc.) preferred but not necessary. Candidates from industries catering to the fast-moving hardware and building materials sector (such as Pidilite industries) etc. are also preferred. To reiterate,It is important for the candidate to have worked at hardcore, target driven sales environment at some point of time in his career before graduating to the position of business head with full P&L responsibilities of his division.Working experience in the Gulf markets would be an added advantage but is not necessary.

. We are looking for candidates from mid- building materials industries. Our target segment for candidates is more from businesses engaged in sales of factory manufactured items with the hardware stores and infrastructure sector (Pipes, Tiles, Paints,laminates,plywood,steel, polymers, chemicals etc.).The idea is to have the candidate perform independently in a flat hierarchy with an entrepreneurial mindset.

. Right attitude, live wire personality,excellent communication skills are a prerequisite.The candidate needs to handle various functional teams under his business vertical namely sales, business development, quality control, manufacturing etc. and therefore demonstrated team management qualities are important. It is preferred but not necessary for the candidate to have some manufacturing plant experience at some point of time of time in his career path.

. Minor exceptions can be made in the age &years of experience for exceptionally bright candidates with perfect fit with the job profile

Salary & perquisites:

. Tax free CTC: Omani Rial OMR 42000 (INR 88 Lakhs at current exchange rates) per annum . . This should translate into a net tax-free saving potential of over INR 70 Lakhs per annum apart from additional performance linked bonuses.
