Mission of the Role

To be the strategic financial architect of Farmex Freshia, ensuring capital efficiency, managing complex supply chain and commodity risks, and building the financial infrastructure to support sustainable and profitable growth. You will translate agricultural operations into clear financial insights and secure the resources needed to invest in our future.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Growth:

Partner with the CEO and board to develop long-term strategy, evaluating opportunities for organic growth (new products, geographies). Lead financial modeling for major capital projects. Develop and monitor KPIs that blend operational metrics with financial outcomes.

2. Financial Operations & Supply Chain Finance:

Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and treasury functions. Implement robust cost accounting across the value chain--from seed and inputs to harvesting, processing, and distribution. Manage intricate working capital cycles, optimizing inventory (perishable goods) and payables/receivables with growers and retailers. Oversee the selection and implementation of an integrated ERP system (e.g., Oracle NetSuite Agri-business, SAP S/4HANA) to connect company data to financials.

3. Risk Management & Commodity Strategy:

Develop and execute hedging strategies to mitigate risks related to commodity price fluctuations, weather, and foreign exchange. Manage relationships with lenders, insurance providers (crop insurance), and government agencies offering grants/subsidies. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (FDA, USDA), environmental reporting, and UAE labor laws.

4. Funding & Investor Relations:

Structure and secure financing for land, equipment, and technology through debt, private equity, or strategic partnerships. Build and manage relationships with banks, impact investors, and family offices interested in sustainable agriculture. If applicable, prepare the company for future liquidity events and act as the primary interface for financial partners.

5. ESG & Sustainability Finance:

Integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics into financial reporting and strategic planning. Quantify and report on the financial impact of sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or MBA, CPA, or CMA strongly preferred.

Experience:

10+ years

of progressive finance leadership, with at least

5 years

in a senior role (VP Finance, SVP, or CFO).

Required:

Demonstrated experience in

FMCG, food production, CPG, or perishable goods supply chain

. Proven track record in managing the financial complexities of a business with physical assets, inventory, and seasonal cycles. Experience with FMCG financing, commodity risk management, and ERP implementation. Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (SASB, TCFD) is a plus.
