Job Description

Manage the engineering/maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure safety and comfort of hotel guests and team members. Follow brand standards and government, and/or local regulatory requirements. May have responsibility for the Loss Prevention function.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To organize and monitor administration and communication with all technical employees within the Engineering department in order to provide a tangible interface with other operational departments.

2. Receives and records all requests and issues to Engineering Department.

3. Monitors the speed at which requests & issues are attended and provide a job completed and outstanding report on a daily basis.

4. Informs General Manager of any jobs that have not been completed within 72 hours of request.

5. Informs General Manager of any trends or regular items appearing on requests.

6. Completes all illness notifications, termination forms etc., within preset time-frame.

7. Ensures all attendance sheets are completed by set payroll date.

8. Monitors planned maintenance against bar chart on a weekly basis.

9. Advises Director of Engineering on the engineeringadministration problems within the department.

10. Keeps daily records of purchase requests etc. and monitors progress order stage.

11. Controls completed work registers and monitors progress- to- order stage where necessary. When purchase orders are completed or when the job is complete, to send copies of the completed works register to Financial Controller.

12. To ensure all external contractors are logged in/out of the Hotel when they commence and finish work.

13. To keep daily records of Hotel energy consumption and review them with the General Manager on a daily basis.

14. To be the department communication point.

15. To maintain information on the movement and appointment of Key employees within the Engineering department.

16. Maintains records of number of employees and company names/contractors working within the Hotel.

FINANCIAL RETURNS:

Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans. Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning.

Lead hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion of projects within budget.

Direct day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.

Educate and train team members in compliance with governmental and safety regulations. Ensure colleague is properly trained on quality and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.

Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. Maintain relations with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, others as needed.

GUEST EXPERIENCE:

Understand and response to customer's needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.

Carry out preventive maintenance program to ensure facility and in service for our guests.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS:

Maintain and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining "green" initiatives.

Maybe responsible for hotel security to minimize risk of theft, crime and other hazards.

Perform other duties as assigned, may also serve as manager on duty.

1. Comply with Hotel Rules and Regulations and provisions contained in the Employment Handbook

2. Comply with Company Grooming Standards at all times to portray a professional image of self and the hotel.

3. Comply with Time and Attendance Policies set by the hotel.

4. Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development

5. Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety

6. Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures

7. Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the Line Manager

8. Comply with the Company's Corporate Code of Conduct

9. Perform all tasks as directed by the Manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR10,000.00 - QAR13,000.00 per month
