Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)

Position Overview:

As the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), you will play a crucial role in driving the commercial growth of our organization\'s group of companies, which includes a Travel Agency, Tour Operator, and Destination Management Agency. Reporting directly to the CEO and local board members, you will be responsible for achieving the company\'s objectives of increasing the attractiveness of the location as a tourism destination, diversifying offerings, enhancing guests\' experiences, and maximizing the economic impact of the tourism sector.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to drive the commercial growth of the organization\'s group of companies, aligning with the organization\'s vision, mission, and objectives.

Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the customer base, develop strategic partnerships, and explore new markets to increase revenue and market share.

Sales and Marketing: Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to promote tourism offerings, increase customer engagement, and enhance brand visibility.

Product Development: Work closely with the team to shape and diversify tourism offerings, ensuring they meet customer demands, enhance guest experiences, and extend their stay in the location.

Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of the commercial division, monitoring budgets, analyzing financial data, and implementing measures to achieve profitability targets.

Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, government entities, tourism boards, and industry associations.

Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership to the commercial team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance. Mentor and develop team members to drive professional growth and succession planning.

Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and adapt strategies accordingly.

Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and presentations for the CEO and board members, highlighting key commercial metrics, achievements, and challenges.

Requirements:

Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior commercial leadership role within the tourism industry, with a focus on operating DMC and Tour Operator business models.

International Exposure: Demonstrated experience working in both local and international markets, understanding the dynamics and trends of the global tourism industry.

Strategic Vision: Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that drive business growth, expand market reach, and increase revenue.

Business Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management principles, budgeting, and forecasting, with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.

Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with partners, government entities, and industry stakeholders.

Leadership Skills: Track record of successfully leading and motivating high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving results.

Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas, influence stakeholders, and deliver compelling presentations.

Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving industry, adapting strategies to changing market conditions and customer preferences.

Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism, or a related field. Additional certifications or advanced degrees will be considered a plus.
