This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to lead a team of accountants. The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization's overall financial strategy.
this Chief accountant will have to manage also a French company, so French accounting and French tax knowledge is mandatory.
Responsibilities: * Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
• Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts, providing insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
• Ensure timely payment of invoices and manage cash flow effectively.
• Monitor and manage the company's financial performance against budget and forecasts.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.

Preferred Candidate: * Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or similar role in a reputable organization.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations (including French ones, mandatory)
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
• Strong ethical standards and integrity in financial reporting.
