Our company is seeking a skilled Chemist - Quality Control with a specialization in Paints & Coatings to join our team in Umm Al Quwain, UAE. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field, with a strong background in paint formulation and testing. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail, a deep understanding of chemical processes, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities:
- Develop and formulate paint and coating products according to customer and industry requirements
- Conduct comprehensive testing and analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure quality and performance standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to paint and coating formulations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all formulation and testing activities
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in paint and coating technologies
- Provide technical support to customers, including addressing inquiries and resolving any product-related concerns
- Participate in the development and implementation of new product development projects
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations
- Bachelor\'s degree in Chemistry or a related field
- Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in quality control of construction chemicals & surface coatings. Experience with quality control of raw materials in paint industry. Tinting / colour matching experience required
- Additional experience in building chemicals industry preferred.
- Experience in computer colour tinting system is desirable
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes and materials used in paint and coating production
- Experience in using laboratory equipment and conducting various tests, such as viscosity, adhesion, and color matching
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in computer software and tools used for data analysis and formulation
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to chemical handling and storage
- QC for Construction Finishing Materials: 3 years (Required)
- Umm al-Quwain City: Relocate before starting work (Required)
