Chef De Partie (Station Chef)
Position: Chef De Partie
Department: Kitchen / Culinary
Reports to: Sous Chef / Head Chef
Job Summary:
A Chef De Partie is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., saute, grill, pastry, sauces). They prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standard, managing their station efficiently and supervising Commis Chefs.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring all dishes are prepared consistently and to recipe specifications.
  • Prepare and cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen brigade.
  • Ensure that food leaves the kitchen in a timely fashion and is of the highest quality.
  • Monitor stock levels for their section and place orders as needed.
  • Supervise and train Commis Chefs within the section.
  • Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in their work area.
  • Assist with menu development and recipe creation.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Chef De Partie or similar role in a professional kitchen.
  • Expert knowledge of their specific section and cooking techniques.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a hot, demanding environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards in a kitchen (HACCP).
  • Creativity and a passion for food.
