Ensure all dishes from your section are prepared and presented to a high standard.
Food Preparation & Cooking
Prepare and cook hot dishes according to recipes and kitchen standards.
Maintain consistency in taste, temperature, and presentation.
Adjust cooking methods as needed based on volume and orders.
Team Supervision
Supervise and guide
commis chefs
or junior staff in your section.
Train team members on cooking techniques, hygiene, and safety procedures.
Quality Control
Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
Ensure all dishes leaving your section meet quality and presentation standards.
Monitor portion sizes and reduce food waste.
Cleanliness & Hygiene
Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation.
Follow strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety protocols (HACCP).
Ensure daily and deep cleaning tasks are completed.
Stock Management
Monitor inventory levels for your section.
Report shortages and assist in stock ordering.
Properly store and label ingredients to prevent spoilage.
Collaboration
Coordinate with other sections to ensure timely and smooth service.
Communicate clearly with the Sous Chef and Head Chef.
Adaptability & Problem Solving
Handle high-pressure situations calmly and efficiently during busy service times.
Adjust preparation and workflow as needed to meet service demands.
Compliance
Adhere to all kitchen policies, health and safety guidelines, and food hygiene regulations.
Contribution to Menu Development (optional)
Assist in testing and developing new dishes for the menu.
Provide feedback on menu improvements based on customer preferences and kitchen workflow.
