About Us & The Job Role:

Daughter and Dad is a family-run coffee shop, offering customers a carefully selected menu of speciality coffee and vegetarian/vegan comfort food. We are a small, tight-knit team looking to hire an experienced Chef de Cuisine with a strong creative passion for vegetarian and vegan foods, as well as a flair for Australian and English-style brunch offerings that celebrate fresh, wholesome, and beautifully presented dishes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead the creation and continuous development of a vegetarian, vegan, and brunch-focused menu, including Australian/English-inspired breakfast and lunch dishes. Take responsibility for ingredient sourcing, professional communication with suppliers, and accurate costing/pricing of dishes. Manage the daily production, preparation, and presentation of all menu items to a high standard. Train, mentor, and support the Chef Assistant, ensuring skills are developed in a positive, constructive, and team-oriented manner. Conduct daily temperature and equipment checks (i.e. freezers, fridges), reporting any faults directly to the manager. Adhere to all health, safety, fire, and hygiene regulations at all times. Complete regular stock inventory to monitor supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage. Work independently with confidence and be able to successfully perform opening and closing procedures. Maintain good working relationships with all colleagues and contribute to positive team morale and a supportive kitchen environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

A minimum of 5 years of culinary experience in a commercial kitchen or catering environment, with knowledge of costing, menu development, and brunch-style cooking. Relevant culinary qualifications or diplomas are preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. HACCP compliant and computer literate.

Additional Information:

ALL APPLICANTS MUST ALREADY BE BASED IN THE UAE. ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE OR COMMUTE DUE TO REMOTE LOCATION. SALARY: 5,000-6,000 AED dependent on skills and experience.
