Job Title:

Ceramic Tile Layer

Job Purpose:

To install, repair, and finish ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite, and other types of tiles on floors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine tile layout and design. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying waterproofing or adhesive materials. Measure and cut tiles accurately using hand tools, tile cutters, or power tools. Mix, apply, and spread adhesives, mortars, and grouts. Lay tiles in required patterns, alignments, and levels with precision. Install decorative trims, borders, and specialty tiles as specified. Repair and replace damaged or broken tiles. Ensure all work meets safety standards and project timelines. Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean worksite. Collaborate with other construction workers, site supervisors, and clients.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a tile layer, tiler, or similar role in construction. Knowledge of various types of tiles (ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite, mosaic). Ability to measure, cut, and align tiles with accuracy. Familiarity with adhesives, mortars, grout, and waterproofing techniques. Strong physical stamina and manual dexterity. Attention to detail and ability to follow design specifications. Basic math skills for measuring and layout. Commitment to safety practices.

Experience: Minimum

2years of experience in tile setting or related field.

Work Conditions:

Work may involve standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods. Indoor and outdoor environments depending on the project. Use of protective gear (gloves, goggles, knee pads, etc.).
