Catering Operation Supervisor

Job Description

The Catering Operations Supervisor oversees the daily operations of catering services, ensuring high-quality food delivery, excellent customer service, and smooth coordination between kitchen, service staff, and clients. This role ensures events are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities



Operational Management



Supervise day?to?day catering operations, including food preparation, packing, delivery, and event setup. Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all catering events. Monitor workflow to maintain efficiency, timeliness, and quality standards. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.

Event Coordination



Review event orders and client requirements to ensure accurate execution. Oversee setup, service, and breakdown of catering events. Communicate event details clearly to kitchen and service teams. Troubleshoot issues during events to maintain smooth operations.

Team Leadership



Train, guide, and supervise catering staff, including servers, drivers, and support teams. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching. Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.

Client Service



Serve as the main point of contact for clients during events. Address client concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain strong client relationships.

Inventory & Logistics



Monitor inventory levels of catering supplies, equipment, and food items. Coordinate with procurement to replenish stock as needed. Oversee proper handling, storage, and transportation of food and equipment.

Administrative Duties



Maintain accurate records of events, staffing, and operational costs. Assist with budgeting, cost control, and resource planning. Prepare reports on event performance, feedback, and operational improvements.

Qualifications & Skills



Education & Experience



Diploma or bachelor's degree in hospitality, catering, or related field (preferred). 3+ years of experience in catering, hospitality, or food service operations. Previous supervisory or team?lead experience required. Proofed

Skills



Strong leadership and team?management abilities. Excellent communication and customer?service skills. Ability to multitask and work under pressure. Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP practices. Strong organizational and problem?solving skills.
