About the team

As a Category Manager at Lenskart, you will be at the forefront of our product strategy, responsible for identifying, sourcing, and selecting fashion-forward products that resonate with our target demographic. Your keen eye for emerging trends, strong industry relationships, and analytical prowess will drive the success of our fashion collections, ensuring our brand remains a trendsetter in the competitive fashion landscape.

What your responsibilities will be

Trend Identification and Analysis:

Stay abreast of global fashion trends, runway shows, and cultural influences to predict upcoming trends that align with our brand identity.

Analyze market data, consumer behavior, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for new product introductions and adjustments to our assortment.

Supplier Relations and Sourcing:

Cultivate and maintain relationships with fashion suppliers, designers, and manufacturers to access exclusive trend-setting products.

Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules, ensuring a seamless supply chain.

Assortment Curation:

Develop a curated assortment of fashion products that align with current and future trends, customer preferences, and brand aesthetics.

Balance the assortment across various categories, styles, and price points to cater to diverse customer segments.

Inventory Management:

Monitor inventory levels and product performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize stock levels and minimize overstock or stockouts.

Collaborate with inventory teams to ensure efficient product flow and timely replenishment.

Pricing Strategy and Profitability:

Collaborate with pricing and finance teams to establish competitive pricing strategies that reflect market dynamics and desired profit margins.

Monitor product performance and adjust pricing as needed to achieve sales and profit goals.

Visual Merchandising Collaboration:

Work closely with visual merchandising teams to create compelling product displays, store layouts, and online presentations that highlight trend-driven products.

Sales Analysis and Forecasting:

Analyze sales data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and customer feedback to evaluate product performance and inform future buying decisions.

Collaborate with demand planning teams to develop accurate sales forecasts.

Seasonal and Promotional Planning:

Collaborate with marketing teams to align product assortment with seasonal campaigns, promotions, and marketing initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with marketing, design, operations, and retail teams to ensure a cohesive and successful merchandising strategy.

Who we are looking for

Bachelor\'s degree in fashion merchandising, business, marketing, or a related field.

6+ years with proven experience as a fashion buyer, merchandiser, or related role, preferably with a focus on trend-driven products.

Passion for fashion and a strong sense of style with an ability to anticipate and interpret fashion trends.

Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret sales data and market insights.

Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Proficiency in merchandising and inventory management software/tools.

Creative mindset with a deep understanding of consumer behavior and fashion aesthetics.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Willingness to travel for industry events and supplier visits.
