Job Title: Cashier Location: Industrial Area 2, Sharjah Job Type: Full-time Job Summary:
As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. You will operate cash registers, process payments, and assist customers with inquiries or concerns related to their purchases. Key Responsibilities:
  • Cash Handling:
  • Operate cash registers, scanners, and other electronic equipment to process transactions.
  • Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods accurately.
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure correct amounts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Customer Service:
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
  • Provide product information, answer inquiries, and resolve customer complaints or issues in a courteous manner.
  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards customers to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Transaction Processing:
  • Scan items, bag purchases, and process returns or exchanges following company policies and procedures.
  • Verify age-restricted purchases such as alcohol or tobacco and follow legal requirements.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers accurately.
  • Sales Support:
  • Upsell or cross-sell products and promotional items to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Promote loyalty programs, discounts, or special offers to encourage customer retention.
  • Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate transaction records and reconcile daily sales reports.
  • Prepare bank deposits and handle deposit slips securely.
  • Follow cash handling policies and procedures to prevent theft or discrepancies.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven work experience as a Cashier or in a similar role.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Integrity and honesty in handling confidential financial information.
