A fresh and innovative technical school in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain is seeking an experienced Carpentry Teacher. Job Specifications:

• Responsible for planning, managing, and improving the learning of students, working with other team members.
• In collaboration with the team to implement and continually improve curriculum, teaching learning and assessment strategies.
• To manage the learning of the students and collaborate with other teachers.
• To manage all facilities and activities related to achieving student learning.
• To play a leadership role in role-modeling behavior, attitudes and learning behaviors for students.
• To develop and maintain teaching materials and assist with program quality assurance processes.

Education Required:

• Master craftsman in the relevant area OR skilled worker in the relevant area
• Master's /bachelor's degree in the relevant area

• Excellent oral and written English essential
• IELTS 7 Academic for non-first language English speakers only - mandatory
• Arabic Language is an advantage

Experience Required:

• Experience (industry or skilled trades) in a relevant area of wood technology in the carpentry field, Architecture or Civil Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of relevant vocational teaching/training with experience of qualifications delivery
• Ability to teach the following:
• Types of solid wood and panel materials (properties, designations, areas of application), wood species and machining properties
• Solid wood processing (processing techniques sawing, planning, filing, drilling, grinding)
• Processing of panel materials (processing techniques sawing, planning, drilling, grinding)
• Woodworking tools (names, areas of application, application, handling)
• Processing and gluing veneers (types of wood, cutting techniques, assembling, gluing)
• develop products (design and manufacture models)
• Plan product-related work processes; carry out, evaluate and optimize production processes; evaluate and optimise manufacturing processes; create manufacturing drawings
• manufacture moulded parts (gluing devices and gluing aids)
• parts to be joined (drill, screw, nail, dowel, spring, glue)
• Assembly of components (assembly techniques, adhesive techniques, clamping devices)
• Surface treatment (grinding and application of surface agents [lacquer, wood oil, wax, stain])
• Machining components with small hand-operated machines (teacher requires a training qualification on machines), work safety and personal protective
• Experience in handling stationary woodworking machines and hand machines for carpenters (Teacher requires machine course)
