A Carpenter in Dubai is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, wood substitutes, and other materials. The role is crucial in both rough construction (formwork, framing) and high-quality finishing work (custom furniture, detailed millwork) prevalent in Dubai's luxury real estate and commercial projects. You must be able to work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to create precise and durable structures.
Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and follow architectural blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements.
• Measure, mark, and arrange materials for cutting and shaping.
• Cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, MDF, and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and stationary machinery.
• Construct and install building components such as door and window frames, staircases, partitions, and rafters (rough carpentry).
• Perform high-quality finish work, including installing custom cabinetry, skirting boards, cornices, wall paneling, and built-in furniture.
• Build wooden concrete forms (shuttering) for foundations, columns, and slabs.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
• Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals on-site, such as project managers, electricians, and plumbers.

Requirements & Skills:

• Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably within the UAE/GCC construction sector.
• In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and the properties of wood.
• Proficiency in using a wide array of hand tools, power tools, and equipment (saws, drills, sanders, planners, etc.).
• Ability to read technical documents and blueprints.
• Good understanding of basic math for taking accurate measurements and calculations.
• Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity to handle heavy materials and tools and work in various conditions.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices.
