BACKGROUND TO THE POST

Our cafe in OliOli Dubai is a dedicated eatery for our guests which offers nutritious snacks and treats for any time of the day. Our vision for our cafe was something that was not merely a cafe, but a habitat of comfort, love and joy. It's the perfect spot for parents to grab a delicious cup of coffee, for kids to grab a snack to fuel the fun, or for families and friends to have a wholesome post-play meal. As such, the space and the team working in it must reflect The OliOli distinctive character and values by offering a welcoming and efficient service, and an environment that appeals to the young and young-at-heart.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic Cafe Barista to join us on our voyage. This is a full-time role and working on weekends is a must.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Cafe Barista, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience while preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages. The role will involve working with the management team to achieve the best possible quality of food and beverage provision. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Cafe Management and Coordination

Prepare a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks

Ensure that all beverages are prepared to the highest quality standards, with consistency in taste, presentation, and temperature

Monitor inventory levels of coffee, milk, syrups, pastries, and other supplies. Assist with stock organization and notify management when supplies need to be reordered

Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth cafe operations, including assisting with other tasks like food preparation, cleaning, or setting up displays as needed

Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other cafe equipment. Perform regular cleaning and basic troubleshooting of machines to ensure optimal performance

Health & Safety

To comply with all Health and Safety policy, measures and legislation

Follow all Health and Safety policy, measures and legislation

Ensure the safe operation of the cafe and use equipment in a safe manner

Maintain the security of cafe and equipment

Assist with Risk Assessments and Method Statements where required

Report all safety matters to the Manager

Customer Service

To assist with customer enquiries and orders

To welcome customers and ensure their orders are processed efficiently

To work within reason to minimize customer complaints and maximize customer satisfaction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The role is expected to be physically demanding and the candidate must have the physical and emotional capacity to deal with the roles requirements.

This position requires the ability to do one or more of the following throughout the day stand, sit, walk, bend, and reach above and below shoulder level, carry objects of differing sizes and weights. Involves frequent repetitive motion.

The noise level in the work environment is highly variable, from quiet to loud.

The working timings include morning and/or evening shifts. Weekends and holidays work are required.

QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS

Previous experience as a barista within a customer focused environment

Pleasant and confident customer service and communication skills

A willingness to learn new systems

High energy levels with cheerful disposition

Willingness to understand and engage the public about the range of activities at OliOli

Ability to be calm and positive when dealing with complaints or difficult situations.

An interest in working in a child-friendly environment.

Willingness to undertake appropriate training such as first aid or food hygiene

The role involves working 6 days a week including weekends and public holidays.*
