The key aspects of the role are:
- \xef\xbb\xbf\xef\xbb\xbfResponsible for developing and buying a range of merchandise that achieves the profit margin and is consistent with buying strategy for 130 stores across GGC countries
- \xef\xbb\xbf\xef\xbb\xbfSourcing and developing products from an effective supply base.
- \xef\xbb\xbfEnsure sections deliver successful sales, stock turn, and contribution to budgets whilst managing and motivating the team to react according to our current trading environment.
- \xef\xbb\xbfNegotiating prices, delivery and payment terms.
- \xef\xbb\xbfPreparing seasonal budgets and sales forecasts.
- \xef\xbb\xbfBuilding planograms and communicating same to stores.
- \xef\xbb\xbfManaging margin and open to buy.
- \xef\xbb\xbfTraveling to the far east/various cities for shopping trips/trade shows/ supplier meetings/development.
- \xef\xbb\xbfWorking closely with the marketing dept. in relation to in-store events/key projects and reporting to shareholders of same.
- \xef\xbb\xbfResearching and evaluating all product/market trends.
- \xef\xbb\xbfConduct competitive analysis of other retailers and engage in international, and regional trend analysis.
- \xef\xbb\xbfCommunicating effectively with designers, suppliers, and senior management within Dunnes.
- \xef\xbb\xbfPresenting ranges to the board of directors and department heads
