Job Description

he Retail Buyer is responsible for selecting and purchasing merchandise that aligns with the store's brand image, customer preferences, and sales goals. They analyze consumer trends, sales performance, and supplier options to make informed buying decisions, ensuring the right product, at the right price, at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions. Source and select merchandise in line with customer demand and seasonal trends. Negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery timelines with vendors and suppliers. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with planners to optimize product availability. Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure high-quality and timely supply. Attend trade shows, fashion shows, and supplier meetings to stay updated with trends. Prepare buying plans and budgets, tracking spend and return on investment. Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and visual teams to ensure product success in-store and online. Analyze the performance of products and categories and take corrective actions as needed. Maintain knowledge of competitors, pricing strategies, and market activity.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or related field. Proven experience (2-5 years) as a Buyer or in a similar retail role. Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and buying/planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.). Strong understanding of market and consumer trends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
