Job Description

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :



1. Meat Preparation and Cutting



Butchering

: Cutting, trimming, and portioning different types of meat (beef, chicken, pork, lamb, etc.) into specific cuts (steaks, chops, roasts).

Bone Removal

: Removing bones from meat if needed, for different customer preferences.

Packaging

: Properly wrapping and labeling meat products in retail packaging for sale.

Grinding Meat

: Grinding meat for products like ground beef, sausages, or burgers.

2. Product Quality and Freshness



Freshness Check

: Ensuring that all meat products are fresh and within the expiry date.

Storage

: Properly storing meats in refrigeration units to maintain safety and quality.

Handling

: Ensuring that meat products are handled with care to avoid contamination, adhering to hygiene standards.

3. Customer Service



Serving Customers

: Assisting customers with selecting their preferred cuts of meat, offering recommendations, and answering questions.

Custom Orders

: Taking custom orders for specific cuts or quantities of meat that aren't pre-packaged.

Customer Satisfaction

: Providing great customer service by ensuring quality and offering expert advice on how to cook or prepare different meats.

4. Food Safety and Hygiene



Sanitation

: Cleaning and sanitizing tools, equipment, and surfaces regularly to maintain cleanliness and avoid contamination.

Food Safety Protocols

: Following all food safety guidelines for handling, storing, and preparing meat to prevent cross-contamination (using gloves, separate cutting boards for different types of meat).

Temperature Control

: Ensuring meat is kept at the correct temperature during storage and display to prevent spoilage.

5. Stock Management and Inventory



Stock Rotation

: Ensuring that the meat is rotated correctly (FIFO - First In, First Out) so that older stock is sold first.

Inventory Control

: Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders for meat supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.

Waste Management

: Minimizing waste through careful cutting, trimming, and proper stock management.

6. Sales and Promotions



Product Display

: Organizing and displaying meat products attractively to catch customers' attention.

Sales Promotions

: Participating in promotions by offering discounts or deals on certain cuts of meat to encourage sales.

Cross-Selling

: Suggesting complementary products like marinades, spices, or accessories that customers might need for cooking.

7. Team Collaboration



Teamwork

: Coordinating with other staff, including supermarket managers, inventory personnel, and cashiers, to ensure smooth operations in the meat department.

Training

: Mentoring junior butchers or new staff on proper techniques, safety, and handling procedures.

Expert Knowledge

: Understanding various meat cuts, preparation techniques, and cooking methods.

Attention to Detail

: Precision in cutting and packaging meat.

Physical Stamina

: The role involves standing for long hours and handling heavy cuts of meat.

: Strong communication skills to interact with customers and provide assistance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,800.00 - AED2,200.00 per month
