Job Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for preparing, cutting, trimming, packaging, and displaying fresh meat products to meet company standards in a fast-paced FMCG environment. Ensures quality, safety, and hygiene compliance while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, pork, lamb, and poultry. Prepare cuts as per store specifications and customer requirements. Package, label, and price meat products for retail sale. Monitor product quality, freshness, and appearance; remove outdated or damaged items. Ensure full compliance with food safety standards, hygiene, and health regulations. Maintain sharpness and cleanliness of cutting equipment and work area. Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock rotation, and report discrepancies. Support special promotions, displays, and seasonal offerings. Engage with customers for custom orders, advice on cuts, and cooking recommendations. Collaborate with the supply chain, procurement, and quality teams to maintain consistency and standards. Minimize wastage through efficient cutting and portion control. Follow company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for traceability and safety checks.
Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a butcher (retail or production), preferably within FMCG or large-scale operations. Good understanding of different meat cuts, preparation techniques, and handling. Certification in Food Safety and Hygiene (preferred). Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods. Strong attention to detail, efficiency, and precision. Physical stamina for standing, lifting, and cutting. Good communication skills for customer interactions. Team player with a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
