MENA and India Team: The team is based in Dubai with some outsourced functions in India and supports management decision making and provides financial and management accounting services to all the offices in the region. The team is led by the Finance Director, who is based in Dubai. APCO Worldwide uses Maconomy for its accounting system and is a major user of Microsoft business products. THE ROLE: The Business Financial Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Business Management and the regional Chief Operating Officer as well as the client facing teams, with all aspects of client business financial management. The role is integrated with the client facing teams and as such an expert understanding of the professional services business model is needed. The key focus of the role will be to manage MENA client projects where the service is delivered by APCO staff around the World. The role will have interaction with teams all over the APCO network and across functions such as resource management, global mobility, human resources and operations. The role is based in Dubai but due to the global nature of the responsibilities we will need a candidate who can be flexible with working hours. Role Responsibilities:
  • Assist client managers to respond effectively to client requests for proposals and submit financial and budgetary portions of such tenders, including developing detailed resourcing plans, budgets, and cost analyses, and analysing pricing for completeness and market competitiveness. Lead or support negotiations with client sourcing, purchasing and procurement staff.
  • Proactively analyse client performance for efficiency and profitability and make recommendations to regional management and to client and project leaders on ways to improve profitability.
  • Serve as a resource to global management and client and project managers regarding project and financial management best practices and provide business analysis as requested.
  • Oversight and guidance of the shared service team as it relates to setting up new project codes in the system, maintenance of budgets and allocation of resources.
  • Collaborate with Client managers to resolve issues on projects that pertain to resourcing, contracting, delays with deliverables or general client management.
  • Collaborate with Director of Business Management, Chief Operating Officer, and Finance Director on strategic goals around improvement of key performance indicators such as realisation and utilisation.
  • Key input into financial statements as it relates to revenue recognition and provide continuous guidance to global teams on revenue forecasts, project performance through the lens of realization.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the Deputy Business Managers. Setting objectives and career path for the deputy business managers.
Role Requirements:
  • Professional service industry experience in similar role
  • Comfortable working with and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Familiar with regional procurement requirements and responding to RFPs/RFQs.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
  • Must already be based in Dubai.
  • Understand and support the confidential nature of the position.
  • Possess exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
  • Systems literate and very good with Excel; Knowledge and experience with Tableau would be an advantage.
  • Ability to deal with high volume email traffic and respond in a timely manner.
  • Detailed and organized to allow for quick and accurate data gathering and analysis.
  • Able to quickly assimilate information and provide output.
