Job purpose:

You will establish and manage the business development and sales activities at Veolia\'s two (2) waste management entities (VESE & VMER) in Abu Dhabi.

The main goal is to achieve the short and long-term business and financial objectives in line with business growth targets and establish the necessary synergies between the two (2) entities.

Moreover, you will manage business-related data, which will be used for the monitoring of business performance and business development.

Job responsibilities

Business Development:
  • Overall responsibility of Business Development & Sales Department; front and back office administration, which includes but is not limited to achieving overall BD & sales targets and efficient function of development administration related to contracts and timely documents compliance.
  • Develop a clear and functional Business Development Strategy to create synergy between the two (2) entities.
  • Develop and execute the Business Development and Sales Plans of both entities and subsequently work on the execution of such agreed plans.
  • Develop, maintain, and update bids financial models to simulate cost projections for accurate and up-to-date pricing and bidding purposes.
  • Develop, and work on business models with key financial indicators to forecast the commercial standing of the projects/tenders.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships and promote up-selling where possible to maximize financial and business efficiency in line with BD plans.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle from a BD point of view \xe2\x86\x92 From RfI to contract termination.
  • Strong liaison with operations to ensure operations & HSE compliance during bid submissions.
  • Ensure the planning, review, approval, and execution of new and existing VESE contracts.
  • Technical and financial reviews of new/existing opportunities & business cases in coordination with relevant managers.
  • Develop, maintain, and update cost/forecast models to simulate cost projections for accurate and up-to-date pricing and bidding purposes.
  • Report to and Execute the requirements of Veolia UAE Geography and Veolia Middle East business development teams for support as and when required.
  • Ensure Full compliance with the reporting requirements of the Geography and the group.
  • Develop, manage, and support the KPIs dashboarding process in VESE & VMER AUH.
  • Support and lead the digitalization process of the entities including liaison with the Veolia group.
  • Diligently performs any other reasonable work or related tasks at the request of his/her manager.
Quality Health Safety Environment
  • Understand, implement, and follow the Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment policies.
  • Report the HSE incident immediately as per HSE procedures.
  • Ensure correct implementation of all company policies, procedures, and standards (including HSE and quality) by subordinates and subcontractors.
  • Take part in the incident investigation whenever required with the HSE department.
  • Ensure all corrective actions assigned to subordinates arising from audits, incidents, and HSE reviews are implemented on time.
  • Carry out HSE Management inspections as per the schedule defined by the HSE department.
  • Make team members aware of their responsibilities, and the importance of following the \xe2\x80\x9cHouse Rules\xe2\x80\x9d, Procedures, and Work Instructions.
  • Understand your role in the event of an emergency and participate in emergency drills and exercises.

  • Understand the management systems and be able to recommend changes in order to continuously improve the systems for the benefit of the operational employees and analytics.
  • Participate in overtime tasks as required from time to time.
  • Support all departments for all forecasts and budget projections.
Team Organisation
  • The Business Development and sales Manager will have a dual reporting role to the UAE Business Development director & the entity\'s General Manager.
  • The Business Development & Sales Manager will have 4 subordinates reporting to her/him.
Organising & Reporting:
  • Ensure that reporting is performed promptly and accurately.
  • Organise soft & hard files with a focus on digitalization.
  • Update reports within the specified time.
  • Produce other reports when required by the Line Manager.
  • Apply corporate recommended procedures and policies wherever possible.
Communication:
  • Report all relevant information to the Line Manager promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure all BD & Sales are reported on Salesforce as per the procedures in place.
  • Share on a monthly basis the main results, achievements, and challenges.
  • Provide accurate information to audit teams
Qualifications

Educational Requirements:
  • Hold a relevant educational qualification from a recognised and reputable academic institution fit for the required job function, minimum Bachelor\'s Degree in Business / Environment field.
  • Middle East experience is an advantage, and UAE experience is an advantage.
  • 10 years experience in waste management/logistics/transportation. Experience in data analysis and business modelling.
  • Business Development and performance management background.
Technical Skills
  • Data / IS&T Management.
  • Waste Management/ Logistics experience.
  • Experience with CMMS / CAFM Systems.
  • Financial Modeling experience.
  • Working knowledge of relevant software and hardware.
  • Analysing and interpreting automated system problems.
  • UAE valid light vehicle driving license is a must.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical people.
  • Maximum flexibility and autonomy due to the nature of work and travelling.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.

Communication:
  • Good command of written and spoken English is mandatory.
  • Good command of Arabic/French/Hindi/Urdu is an advantage.
  • Able to transfer knowledge to colleagues, interns, and students.
  • Ensure proper organizational recording and record-keeping related to Operations.
  • Communicate accurately, correctly, timely, effectively, and in an appropriate manner using email, documentation, and verbally.

  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills.
  • Excellent workload and time management.
  • Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail, correctness, and accuracy with the good use of English and technical terminology.
IT Skills
  • Strong skills in calculations and modeling.
  • Proficiency in using Google Suite environment.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
